Ottawa-based QNX reaches 50-million milestone for units shipped


QNX, the Ottawa-based subsidiary of Blackberry announced this week that it has hit 50 million shipped automotive systems to automakers including Fiat-Chrysler, Ford, GM and Honda.

“Almost 20 leading automakers now use QNX acoustics software to enhance the user experience of their vehicles, in products such as Chrysler Uconnect, Ford SYNC3, GM OnStar and Honda BlueConnect. On average, QNX acoustics software is shipped in an automotive system every 2.5 seconds,” said the company.

QNX first partnered with Apple in the early 2000s to connect iPods to Mercedes.
