A budget that focuses on talent and key sectors to boost Greater Montréal’s economy

Montréal, March 17, 2016 – Montréal International (MI) welcomes the measures announced by the Québec government in its new budget to bolster the competitiveness of key sectors of the province’s economy and take advantage of the digital revolution. Québec is ready for a digital, technology-driven future and knows that focusing on talent is the best way to get there. That is why MI is particularly pleased with the government’s initiatives geared toward training and retaining top talent in Greater Montréal.

The government also announced additional investments to accelerate the growth of the digital economy ($162 million), aerospace industry ($70 million) and life sciences sector ($34 million). “Montréal International is pleased that specific strategies will be unveiled in 2016 to attract foreign businesses and support growth in strategic sectors of the region’s economy,” said Hubert Bolduc, President & CEO of Montréal International.
