Quebec City's TeraXion's Photonics Components Division acquired by Ciena bolster its R&D centre of excellence in Ottawa


Ciena, the Maryland-based networking equipment maker announced it has struck a $CA46.6 million deal with Quebec City's TeraXion, on its high-speed photonics components division. With this acquisition, Ciena will maintain critical design and innovation resources in Québec City and bolster its R&D centre of excellence in Ottawa. "This acquisition also reinforces our commitment to serving as a growth and innovation engine in Canada, which is home to our largest employee base and more than 50 percent of our global research and development team." said Scott McFeely, Senior Vice President, Networking Platforms at Ciena.
