Halifax-based sports analytics startup Kinduct is building on its recent successes by being accepted to the first-ever LA Dodgers Accelerator program, where it has gained access to venture capitalists and top-flight mentors including representatives of Amazon, Nike and Facebook. Founded in 2010, the company makes software to process data from athletic technology and wearable devices such as Fitbits and heart rate monitors. Using that data, as well as athlete journals and health records, the company's software tracks athletic performance, seeking out correlations to make recommendations to ensure top performance. On top of selling thousands of licences to the Canadian military and fitness trainers, the company counts the New England Patriots and Toronto Blue Jays among the 45 professional sports teams that make up its clientele.
