"Hollywood North" is enjoying a return to form now that the Canadian dollar has sunk to its lowest level since 2004. "It is a boom time for Toronto," observed Jim Mirkopoulos, vice-president of family-owned Cinespace. "Our last sales trip to L.A., all of a sudden it was like our industry was on steroids." In B.C., meanwhile, spending for the year past $2 billion, making for a surge of nearly 40 per cent year-over-year.
