Start-up with hockey analytics technology moves to Waterloo

HockeyTech, which provides hockey-related technologies like analytics and information services to various leagues,  has moved to Waterloo, Ontario to take residency in a former BlackBerry building, now owned by the Waterloo Innovation Network, is partnering with the University of Waterloo to take advantage of local technology and maths talents to take some of the guess work out of the game.

The company unveiled its HockeyTech Analytics technology at Columbia Ice Fields Arena last Thursday. It tracks live player movement around the ice using sensors in real-time. That data can be compiled and analyzed to make player or coaching decisions.
