The Consider Canada City Alliance teamed with Invest in Canada to bring 11 foreign journalists from the USA, UK, Belgium, Austria, Italy and Japan to Canada to see first hand the strength and diversity of the Aerospace sector in Canada. Four packed days of tours, roundtables and presentations gave the journalists an up close view of the strength and diversity of the sector in Canada.

Four cities (Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg) were visited to introduce the journalists to the capabilities across Canada. Site visits were made to a range of companies working in various parts of the aerospace supply chain. Companies visited included:

Visits were also made to several research facilities including the Cabin Comfort and Environment Research Facility at the federal National Research Council, the Aerospace Engineering departments at the University of Toronto and Carleton University and the Composites Innovation Centre in Winnipeg.

The stop in Ottawa included briefings by David Lametti, Canada’s Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada.

It is expected that 40 articles will be published as a result of the tour. This will give the global aerospace industry a taste of today’s Canadian capability prior to the Farnborough Air Show in July.
